MANUFACTURING DEPARTMENT WINS 2015 PMA AWARD OF EXCELLENCE UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF GENE KEYES.
Late last year, the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) announced the winners of its 2015 Awards of Excellence in Metalforming, with the Clips & Clamps Industries (CCI) Educational Institution Award going to Schoolcraft College in Livonia, MI.
Accepting the award on behalf of Schoolcraft was long-time instructor Gene Keyes, who has dedicated countless hours to help the college’s manufacturing program become elite on both the state and national level.
Among other winners, Schoolcraft College was honored with a special plaque, commemorative flag and cash prize in November during the FABTECH tradeshow in Chicago, IL, and was featured in the December issue of MetalForming magazine. Presented annually, the PMA awards recognize high standards of achievement set by the metalforming industry in the areas of design, safety, quality, training and education, among others.
CCI congratulates Gene and Schoolcraft College for their special achievement. The school has partnered with the Livonia Chamber of Commerce, the Plymouth Community Chamber of Commerce and local industries like CCI to maintain a manufacturing program.
Together these partners recruit and train a skilled workforce for local manufacturers and, in return, these industries support Schoolcraft’s manufacturing department mission by providing instruction and machinery.
